Special Mother's Day Poem
A breeze picks up, and trees talk with the birds.
Yet still I have no clue what I could say,
to make this Mother's Day show what's in my heart.
If I had a rose to represent your love,
it would have no color for there can be no such spectrum.
But if I have a long life, that turned out to be well,
I would measure that by you,
My mother.
Trade, Riddle # 26
The smile heavily fumed
Everywhere inside buildings
Even on the outside
Take care to dry
Drips look like tears

Verb, Not A Noun, Riddle #25
My only form of travel is to fly, never drive.
I am seen if you clean or when it's hot.
Oops I forgot, I'm also known for a block against the sun.
I deploy more than one, employed by a bottle.
Don't get me wrong I use only liquid
unless you're using bullets to a gun.

than two hands.
He will show you one thing or two
or three or four or five.

never telling fabled lies.
No need to put yourself in pain,
sit back, relax, just observe.
Gabe will entertain of this I have inferred.

Without, Riddle #23

Tuesdays WIth Morrie, Riddle #19
What creates smiles yet also tears?
What makes fantasies as well as fear?
This thing can teach and also destroy.
What has ideas and has them deployed?
That which has only a spine and also a heart,
has a distinct ending as well as a start.
Often the smell of this brand new
is potent enough to give a good clue.
What is the teacher that never grades?
What can be true yet also be fake?
Plural Yet Singular, Riddle #18
I am most known as a pair so just share
But not with a bully, watch out for your hair
I am paper’s handy bane
But watch your fingers, I’ll cause you some pain
If you see me around you may say I look sharp
But look a little closer and you’ll see I make art

The Girl In Class, Riddle #17
What is normal to you and me,
and to her is beauty?
It can be black or pink
though the latter is unnatural.
This that rests upon and not all on top
if grabbed with finger and thumb
only one,
may become lost.
Real of this is priceless, though
maybe only to you and I.
Yet fake of this aren’t hard to find
yet are a lot to buy.
Can it be that one won’t know
this handful that I’ve spoke?
What waves in fans
and to a man is long and grown
but only if the woman’s not home.

21st Century, Riddle #16
Never killing but I’m something no one can contain.
Through the centuries I’ve been the subject of change.
If you don’t like one type of me I promise I’m not all the same.
Any emotion I can emit a lot.
What I'm saying is what is hot.
Maybe I don’t have the coolest notes on the block
but I will remain popular whether you like it or not.

Play Ball, Riddle #15
This thing is no exception.
This can be given with prizes.
Or provide a sense of deception.
But what is it that cannot speak
yet can still be outspoken?
And what can put to sleep
but cannot be woken?
What gives away cover when backwards or risen?
Worn by pirates that plunder and thinkers with visions.
Perhaps one won’t need a comb
but maybe a hint.
Look to Sherlock Holmes or westerns with Clint.
Bacon Flavored, Riddle #14
existing in some drinks you drink.
But here's the thing:
Underwater is one place I'm found.
No I'm not a fish, yet mostly I'm round.
Though I cannot swim, I also cannot drown.
Busy Bodies, Riddle #13
I am a thing which can be bitter to clean
but mainly I'm sweet
I am liquid but pretty viscous

I am the color of summer though
not the same hue
I have many uses and am good for you too

The sun shines off my matter.
Being the last my victim sees

Stir It Up, Riddle #11
I spread through society like the black plague.
Never killing but I’m something no one can contain.
Through the centuries I’ve been the subject of change.
If you don’t like one type of me I promise I’m not all the same.
Any emotion I can emit a lot.
Now playing is what is hot.
Maybe I don’t have the coolest notes on the block
but I will remain popular whether you like it or not.
Spring, Riddle #10
Rain readily replicates me,
I am always in a rut.
Small and sometimes not seen,
I am like spiders to a foot.
Watch my waves wriggle,
though my body stays put.
To tots and toddlers that tickle,
I am their reason to whoop.

Intelligent Creatures, Riddle #9
whose first letter in front has two humps and two mouths for caves?
The word when seen may cause a scene but please don't scream.
The second letter is the only one the eye can see but not hear smell taste or touch,
well, touch if one must.
The word itself is plural, but has no "s" or doubles.
And the letter from there, the only place when abandoned at,
we'd be in serious trouble.
And last but not least comes no "t's" or "ing's," no ifs ands or whats,
it just rhymes with these.

Differs By Hand, Riddle #8
What is a verb yet also a noun?
Without making a sound
What gets us in trouble while we’re speeding around?
In order to be paid, one must do this

Someone you’ve known
A wind in the grove
A whisper that doesn’t soothe

A Valuable Gift, Riddle #6
In order to hear it, silence.
The sound is quiet but distinct,
like the pattering of many feet.
In order to see it, concentrate.
This is barely visible when mild
like a sparkle in a diamond.
In order to feel it, walk out.
Shrouded with the earth’s precious waste,
take care to go without haste.
In order to smell it, breathe.
Refreshed is the fragrance of pavement,
renewed is the day once passed.

A Dog's World, Riddle #5
What can get dirty without moving an inch?
This that can be anywhere, can be a perfect fit.
This that cannot defend yet protects when you trip.
That this is what we disregard while we’re taking our steps,
what stays the same even after we’ve left?
Unless, you own a pet that couldn’t wait to go,
then you’ll return and my riddle you’ll know.
Monday, April 5, 2010
A World Without, Riddle #4
